Hiroshima Manmaru Cheese
Mitsuya Honpo Co., Ltd.

“Cheese cake crafted by Japanese sweets
artisans.” Sweet bean paste is mixed with
three cheese varieties and dry fruit,
then tenderly lovingly bundled in richly
fragrant dough prepared
with honey produced in the Miyajima region.

“Hiroshima Manmaru Cheese,” a new manju (sweet bean paste filled bun) from “Mitsuya Honpo” – a leading Japanese sweets shop in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Rich in bean paste created from cream, cheddar and camembert cheeses, these pastries keenly resemble masterful cheesecake creations. They also contain hearty helpings of dried fruit soaked in fine liquor, while wrapped in dough exuding the mellow aroma of Miyajima-harvested honey. With their fine balance of sweet and tart flavors, these manju are an elegant blend of Japanese and Western pastry traditions.
